Course Overview

“Unleash the potential that is in another and you unleash the potential that is in you.” – Matshona Dhliwayo One of the most valuable assets of any organisation that isn’t reflected in its balance sheet, is its human assets, the people working in it. Indeed, great organisations invest a great deal in the development, motivation and progress of their work force. Human Resource Management (HRM) is an essential function for organisations to sustain and grow. People management today has evolved into a multidimensional role that throws up as many challenges as opportunities, for HR professionals as well as professionals contemplating a career in HRM.

Programme Overview

Creating sustainable value through people is of strategic importance for most organisations. Contemporary pressures such as globalisation, rapid changes in technology and social norms, and increasing emphasis on corporate social responsibility make it imperative to take a strategic perspective on HRM issues, beyond the traditional administrative way of managing people. Most employers now recognise employees as a source of sustainable competitive advantage.
EPSHRM while recapitulating participants’ knowledge of the HRM domain at an operational level, seeks to build on it to develop a strategic perspective. The programme aims to equip middle and top level managers, both line managers and HR managers, with knowledge and skills to make HRM decisions to build and sustain competitive advantage.
