Executive Post Graduate Certificate in Public Policy Management (EPGCPPM)
The Executive Post Graduate Certification in Public Policy Management (EPGCPPM) offers a unique integration of management concepts, tools and techniques with stress on public policy formulation, analysis and implementation, including the design and execution of delivery systems.
The programme aims to brings participants into contact with academics and management practitioners with the purpose of providing them with the opportunity, time and space to extend their knowledge and capabilities in public policy management.
Candidates applying for the programme should have completed 3 years work experience after graduation while applying for the programme. i.e. as on the date of submitting the application online. The eligibility criteria remain same for all the certificate programmes.
The date of completion of degree is considered based on the provisional/original degree certificate issued by the University.
The objective, generally, is to develop a professionally sound public policy and public service delivery which meets the needs of inclusive development by strengthening the learning and capacity building needs of officials/executives/professionals working in the field of public affairs and public service delivery.
Specifically, the key objectives are as follows:
(a) To provide training for a strong foundation in public policy theory, programme management, monitoring and evaluation.
(b) To improve the participants professional skills, analytical capability and competency needed to shape policy development process.
(c) To develop interdisciplinary competencies that are critical to make programme participants effective in their role.
(d) To enable the participants to apply the knowledge and skills that they have learnt in the programme in real world contexts.
Public policy professionals must be able to critically examine policy goals, means of achieving the goals and outcome of the policies implemented in the face of constantly evolving socio-political, economic, sectoral and international challenges.
On successful completion of the EPGCPPM programme, participants will be able to
a) Understand policy cycles and the gaps that need to be addressed in policy development
b) Acquire the analytical capabilities needed to shape policy development
c) Adopt a comprehensive and multi-faceted approach to analysing, developing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and communicating public policies
d) Acquire and sharpen their technical skills at every stage of the policy development process
e) Become more effective in their role, having been exposed to various analytical, decision-making, evaluation and communication tools
f) Map out, manage and communicate most effectively with stakeholders, organisations and the general public
