Professor Suren Sista is a member of the Faculty of Marketing at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. He is a Fellow (PhD) of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and holds a Post-graduate degree in Marketing Communications from MICA, Ahmedabad. He was the Dr. D C Pavate Research Fellow at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, in 2010. Professor Sista was on deputation at the IAS Academy (LBSNAA) at Mussoorie as Professor of Management in 2016-17, where he was involved in the training of Civil Services Officers. Professor Sista’s ongoing research is in the areas of Marketing, Relationship Marketing, Sports Marketing, and Research Methods. He is an Area Editor (Marketing) of the Journal of Indian Business Research (Emerald Publication). He has undertaken various consulting assignments on the business of sports and entertainment and is active in executive education. Professor Sista teaches core Marketing courses, and elective courses in Relationship Marketing and Competitive Marketing Strategy at IIM Calcutta.

Teaching at IIM Calcutta since 1997, Prof. Vidyanand teaches Organisation Behaviour; Organisation Theory; Management of Creativity and Innovation; Human Resources Management; Management of Organisational Change; Interpersonal and Group Behaviour; Stress Management, Communication and Presentation Skills, Organisational Development; and Knowledge Management. He has conducted programmes for a large number of organisations like L&T, ABP, PayPal, Cognizant, NTPC, IOC, SAIL, LIC, SBI, etc. He has also conducted many programmes in Bangladesh for Coats Bangladesh, Royal Danish Embassy, Chittagong Skills Development Centre, Akij Group, and Robi Axiata. He designed and offered the first online course from IIM Calcutta called Personal Effectiveness in the New Economy in the early 2000s. He was also the first co-director of the first long-duration programme offered by IIM Calcutta, named Special Management Programme. His current research interests include managing organisational change; managing creativity and innovation; and social entrepreneurship and diversity. A visiting faculty at Management Schools in Bangkok and Santiago, he was also invited by the Sultanate of Oman as a keynote speaker in the SME conference.
